Interim Director

Anna Lambertson

Anna Lambertson brings ten years of experience in advocacy and health and human services and was previously the Director of Development and Public Outreach for KHCC. Prior to joining KHCC, Anna managed the Limited English Proficiency Access Program for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, serving as the state liaison for a translation contract and monitoring agency budgets for those services. Anna’s background also includes coordinating the Esperanza Program at Keys for Networking, Inc. Her passion for advocacy stems from her experience at Community Living Opportunities, Inc., where she provided mentoring services and training in independent living to adults with moderate to severe developmental disabilities.

Anna is a Core Group member of the national Dignity in Schools Campaign. In that role, she spearheads national advocacy initiatives and helped coordinate the Campaign’s first national conference. Anna previously served as Chair of the Topeka Human Relations Commission and on the Steering Committee of the 2008 Conference on Poverty of the Kansas Association of Community Action Programs.

Anna holds a Bachelor’s in French and International Studies and a Masters in International Studies, both from the University of Kansas. Her studies include two years at the University of Franche-Comte in Besancon, France. Anna also completed a Certificate in Advertising and coursework in business and marketing from the Graduate School of Management in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Sonia Olmos

Sonia Olmos joined the Kansas Health Consumer Coalition in February 2008. She provides administrative and logistical support for programs and events and manages daily operations. She is a native Kansan whose background includes six years of experience serving diverse populations in the public welfare system and through advocacy organizations. She has gained awareness of the struggles families face as they try to receive and maintain health care and coverage.

Sonia worked on health care education as a social work intern with the Shawnee County Health Department and as the Family Services Coordinator at Head Start in Lawrence. She also has significant experience providing assistance to families of children with disabilities and developmental delays through her work with Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters, a national and evidence-based preschool program for low income families.

Sonia is fluent in Spanish. She holds a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work, both from Washburn University.
